Blooming in the Scree

Blooming in the Scree

Having lived most of my life in a lush valley near sea level, I am always amazed when I find flowers up high. Hardy plants that some how manage to live under many feet of snow all winter and bake in the sun all summer. At the top of Paulina Peak, elevation just short of 8,000 feet, these lovely blooms bask in the sun.

If you recognize this red beauty, let me know!
